The script for CBS's upcoming movie "The Reagans" proves the network is out to smear President and Mrs. Reagan.

Matt Drudge reported on the Drudge Report Monday night that the made-for-TV movie that has James Brolin playing President Reagan neglects to mention that Reagan started the greatest economic boom in American history.

The movie also shows Nancy Reagan in a terrible light.

Drudge writes: "The film depicts Nancy Reagan as a pill-popping control addict, who set the president's schedule based on her astrologer's advice and who had significant influence over White House personnel and policy decisions."

The Drudge Report says the New York Times will reveal details of the final script of the movie.

Reportedly, the film will focus on the Reagans' troubled relationship with their children and portrays Reagan as uncaring about gays who suffered from AIDS.

Drudge notes the producers, as well as CBS chief Leslie Mooves, are well-known liberal Democrats.

Brolin is the husband of actress Barbra Streisand, one of Hollywood’s most activist liberals.

Streisand recently appeared on Oprah Winfrey's show and said she supported her husband playing Reagan.

Steisand told Oprah, "I said as long as they tell the truth about Ronald Reagan, I have no problem."
